COVID-19 update Harrington Street Public School

NSW Government logo

Dear parents and carers,

I would like to provide a further update to my communications yesterday.

As you are aware, a number of our school community were identified as contacts due to a member of our school community who tested positive for COVID-19.

NSW Health have advised that after further investigation, the person had received a false positive test result and is not COVID-19 positive.

As a result, there are no staff or students identified as contacts and any staff or students currently isolating are no longer required to isolate and may return to school.

NSW Health reminds anyone who has been unwell or if you develop any symptoms such as a fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of smell/taste, muscle/joint pains, diarrhoea, nausea/vomiting or extreme tiredness to be tested at one of the COVID-19 testing clinics.

Further information on COVID-19 is available on the NSW Government website.

The NSW Department of Education will continue to work closely with NSW Health to ensure the health and safety of all students and staff is maintained.

While we recognise this has been disruptive and inconvenient for families, it is important that we follow NSW Health advice and take all necessary precautions to minimise the risk of further transmission to support our community.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
