Aboriginal Education

We would like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land, the Cabrogal people of the Darug nation, on which we live and learn. It is on Darug land that Harrington Street Public School is built. We pay respects to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait - 1

At Harrington Street Public School, every student is known, valued, and cared for in a culturally inclusive learning environment that acknowledges and respects the histories, cultures, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We are committed to building a school community where reconciliation is embedded in everyday practice, and where all students feel a strong sense of belonging and connectedness. We recognise the strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and seek to build strong, respectful partnerships between First Nations peoples and our school community that enrich learning for all. We aim to empower all students to be confident and resilient life-long learners contributing to a reconciled Australian society.

Reconciliation Action Plan

A Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is a formal, structured framework enabling organisations to advance reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples by building relationships, respect, and opportunities.

At Harrington Street Public School we have worked with our local community to create our RAP:
